be intentional today
Upon waking, take a minute to remain in bed, stretch, and scan how you are feeling today.
Do you have any aches or pains?
What feelings are you noticing?
Set Your Intentions
Be intentional about working out those aches and pains, e.g. with stretches, a brisk walk, or visiting a chiropractor or medical professional.
Emotions inform us, so pay attention to them, your response, and what may be at the center of them. "Gently decide" if you will simply allow the feelings to sit in the back of your mind so that you can respond later, or whether you need to talk to a trusted someone to process them, or act, or do nothing - the "art of wu wei."
Reflect on your day ahead, what you choose to accomplish at work, home, in the community and for your own health and well-being.
Consider the underlying feeling or tone you choose for your day - no matter what life decides to throw at you. Visualize all of this intention. Lock in the overall feeling you desire to carry throughout your day - emotions can be like carrying a heavy weight, so be thoughtful about what you decide on.
Begin the rest of your day.
Before you sleep at night, take a moment to reflect and perhaps journal about your day, accomplishments, learnings, creative ideas, and the good things that have happened in your day. Clear your mind before you rest or let the "mystery of sleep" work creatively on problems during the night.
